Nice attack ads
31 May 2007 at 5:59 pm | In Canada, Politics, Stephen Harper | Leave a CommentThe Conservative Party of Canada have released three new attack ads on Liberal Party leader Stephane Dion dealing with the Senate reform and leadership.
What I like about these ads?
1) The Canadian Senate should be elected like the Senates in the United States and Australia.
2) Simplistic, but very effective. The Tories are creating cheap ads that simplistic, but have a big punch.
3) The Tories continue to rub the topic of government corruption and reform into the face of the Liberals.
4) American campaigns should take notice seeing these things seem to have prevented the Liberals from breaking about 31% in the polls over the last five months with a few outliers.
It hits the fan today in Quebec…
26 March 2007 at 9:31 am | In Canada, Politics, Stephen Harper | Leave a CommentIt appears the people of Quebec are going to free themselves from the bondage of the Separatist/Federalist divide today by bringing a third option into the mix. The pro-free market, pro-autonomy, pro-Canada ADQ will likely hold the balance of power in the Quebec National Assembly as the Liberals will likely win a plurality of the vote and seats.
Over three decades of the polarization that has harmed Canada and Quebec will be broken today as another option breaks on to the scene.
My Prediction for the vote: Small Liberal Party of Quebec* minority government propped up by the ADQ.
*Liberal Party is a relative term in Quebec. It is the party that the staunch federalists and Anglophones support. It is led by a former federal Conservative leader and cabinet minister.
Canadian Tories are pulling ahead of Liberals…
21 February 2007 at 8:55 am | In Canada, Politics, Stephen Harper | 1 CommentThe Conservatives are pulling ahead of the Liberals in the polls and Prime Minister Harper is favored by a substantially higher percentage of the Canadian public than his Liberal counterpart, Stephane Dion.
The question in my opinion is how low can ”Greenie” go?
